Short story.
My partner and I were sitting next to each other and his phone kept going off during the movie we were watching. I turned to him and asked who is it? He said a friend group. I replied “oh okay” he then replied with “why, don’t you trust me?”

It might not mean anything but, I can’t get it out of my head. That comment he made.
A few days after we got into a little argument over nothing really, it was something that got brought up again in conversation. He kind of did lie about something, from context it was something he stated before that was true but, wasn’t the whole truth?
After calling him out on it, He then asked me “do you think I’m a liar?”
I do feel it wasn’t right to bring it up and I apologised. But, the comment idk

Some of these don’t add up and it might be honestly nothing but, “you think I’m a liar” and “why, don’t you trust me?” makes me question it. What do you think?

  1. The second part is very vague, unless there are other signs pointing to him lying to you, I’d just let this slide.

In the future if he brings up ‘don’t you trust me?’, you can reply with something that carries more weight, such as ‘you know I do. Don’t make me regret that.’ Delivery is important when making a statement.
