What is something about the world you realized late/ changed your mind on?

1. I believed (or maybe hoped) that people like politicians, professors and in general people who have some kind of authority etc., got were they are because they are responsible and reliable. I realized that some of them are not to be trusted at all and they don’t care about others as they should.
