What’s the best job you’ve had?

  1. The job I have right now! It’s like a bakery/ice cream shop and I love it. I never thought I would enjoy working with food, but honestly this is the only job I’ve not dreaded coming to work and thought about quitting every day.

  2. I used to work in the Guest Service department at the CN Tower, my longest job to date. I met tons of celebs, did the EdgeWalk (for free) 3 times and saw Toronto change over the years. I also have pictures of the view in various weather conditions, some are with lightning and thunder which made for some sick pics.

    Best job I ever had.

  3. I worked at a chain Halloween store in 2002 when I was 14. My manager let us steal whatever we wanted at the end of the season and my coworkers got me my first fake ID. Shit was rad.

  4. I never had a real job in my life but I did a lot of internships in high school, my favorite internship was in a restaurant kitchen with frysian, Dutch and Indonesian food, I was allowed to taste everything and had a lot of fun there with other young people who worked there. Tasting everything was really special to me, especially since I grew up poor and was never allowed to go to a restaurant with my family in my teens.

  5. Current job, quality designer at a AAA video game studio that treats employees like people.

  6. My current one. I work in a hybrid analytical & project management role in the financial services industry, within the compliance space. I have really solid work-life balance, it pays well (100K/year), great colleagues who are all insanely smart and experienced, the work is intellectually stimulating.

  7. A corporate internship at a major entertainment studio where the department was in disarray (a domino effect of resignings). They couldn’t fire me, because my employment was through the internship program, and they were so caught up in their own drama to assign me anything. They would all come to me with their perspective on the drama, which was entertaining.

I basically checked in every morning to let them know I was there, then got paid to do nothing. I finished my schoolwork for the week, walked around the lot, volunteered on other intern’s projects, watched a lot of the company’s content, and chilled. Sometimes, I’d rent a golf cart just to drive it around for fun.

I had a few friends interning in other departments, so when they had big, catered meetings, I’d walk over and fix a plate, then stroll the lot.

  8. I don’t know if best would be the right way of describing it but when I was working at a bar I had a blast meeting new people and hearing all sorts of crazy stories. There were a lot of negatives with that job but also a lot of fun times and unique people.
