I (16m) am very interested in this girl (16f), but I rarely have an opportunity to talk to her. I recently found out that she also has interest in me and I was wondering if I should take initiative by giving her my number. I wouldn’t just give it to her without talking, or try to sneak it somewhere. I was thinking of some kind of funny (or smooth) sentence to start a conversation with once we start texting. Would this be a good way to hopefully start talking to her, and would she appreciate me giving my number instead of asking for hers?
