I’m going to college. I am always alone in the class. The other people in the class are usually in groups of 4-5 people. I want to join these friend groups, what should I do? What should I say or do first? The people I’m talking about are people I’ve never met.

  1. Good for you for wanting to try! Definitely intimidating. Asking about something you all might have in common – easier to start with one person than a whole group at once …. maybe someone wears a band or tv show shirt that you also like and you compliment them. Chat it up about whatever subject it is for a bit. Then maybe talk about the class / homework/ projects, etc
