On multiple British television series, I’ve seen people get their pajamas not from a drawer or wardrobe, but rather, lifted up their pillows from their bed, and there were folded-up pajamas there—do people actually keep them there?

  1. It’s a good place to put them if they’re already worn but not dirty enough to need washing, and you don’t want to find them covered in dog/cat fur because you left them out somewhere.

  2. Yep that’s where I keep my PJ’s (and all other worn-once-or-twice-but-still-wearable clothes go on The Chair)

  3. Wait… people elsewhere don’t?

I don’t wear clean ones every day but I don’t want to put them back in the clean laundry drawer since they do have a “shelf life” after which I want to wash them even if they’re not visibly dirty.

I don’t have a drawer or whatever specially for the jammies I’m currently wearing that are neither clean, nor dirty enough to need washing, but I don’t want to leave them just out on the bed.

  4. Yes. I will tend to wear the same ones for a couple of days so I put them under the pillow. Why wouldn’t you?

  5. As a child. But also I remember having a pyjama case! I think it looked like a stuffed animal & had a zip so you could keep them inside.

  6. Nope, I keep mine on a hanger. The hanger is on the curtain rail in front of my own bedroom window.

They only get worn for a few days at most but I like to have them line fresh (ish) every night.

  7. When I was young my Mum still had this crazy pyjama case that was essentially a scary donkey shaped toy with a zip in it and you were supposed to store your pyjamas in it.

But I just put mine under my pillow.

  8. I found a Primark nightie under the pillow in the Travelodge in Warrington (right next to the magistrates court) once.

  9. Mine are right there now as I type.

I don’t know where else you’re supposed to keep them.

  10. Yup Jammie’s under the pillow. I have far too much clothes in my drawers and wardrobe and instead alternate between the pile of 3 outfits I keep in my bedside unit. 1 dog walking outfit, 1 outfit for lounging and 1 for working at home

  11. Its very interesting to see how many people are saying yes because they wouldnt put worn pyjamas back in their drawers, as if those are the only two options. Meanwhile… (glances at floor)

  12. Yes I still do this!! I also still have a scary sailor pj doll you can put your pjs in a pouch in his back. Had it when I was a child and it scares the life out my kids now when they see it. I have to hide it from them.

  13. Storing them under a pillow is the perfect solution, you know where they are, your pet doesn’t, and your not putting them with clean/unworn clothing or dirty/wash-ready clothing.

Question is, what do other people do, wear fresh daily, or have a special ornate box to store them in for the next night.

  14. The people who are leaving them on the floor/under the bed are going to give me nightmares. That’s where the *spiders* live.
