How much free stuff have you gotten in your life because of your appearance?

1. Mostly free alcohol and the odd “would you like this seat.”

2. How would you know unless you’ve specifically been told you are getting said item for free because of your appearance?

3. A lot of drinks, dinners, on the house coffees, on the house drinks, flowers, had a guy pay for my flight and had a guy buy me a ruby necklace because he was in love with me but we were at no point romantically involved

4. I’ve gotten a shit ton of freely expressed opinions on how I look. From both men and women alike.

5. More favoritism than just free stuff

6. Probably zero, I’m not that attractive. But I’ve gotten a ton of free stuff by being polite, patient and engaging in conversation including lots of food at restaurants, drinks from bartenders, extras from stores or people who have come to the house to do work. It’s amazing how appreciated people feel when you listen to them.

7. Nothing so far

8. A free carnival ride! The guy running the ride said it was hilarious how I looked genuinely frightened at the haunted house and it’s cheap jump scares while my then 5-year-old looked as if he were waiting quietly and was bored. So he ran us through again.

9. Before I gained weight I got some free stuff where prices weren’t fixed. For example I got an extremely large fish and “because it was so small” I got a 2nd portion of a different kind. Or someone else put quite a few tomatoes on mine after having weighed them so giving them to me for free. Things like that.

11. When I was six a lady gave me a chocolate bar because I was cute

12. A guy at autozone installed my headlight for me & I have gotten warnings when I should have gotten tickets, multiple times…but those days are gone now. I’m over 50.

13. Nothing. But I have gotten free stuff for being kind hearted and friendly, which is far more valuable in the long run than being pretty.
