What’s the sign of a man who tries to be smart?

  1. Correcting people

It’s rude and shows bad tact. If you were smart you wouldn’t accidentally offend people by correcting their use of there

  2. I assume you’re referring to someone who tries to convince others that he’s smarter than he actually is.

In that case, they’ll do any of several things: They’ll use bigger words than necessary, but not *quite* correctly, or (my favorite) use a word that doesn’t actually exist, like “conversate” (that one makes me cringe). They’ll profess knowledge in an obscure area that they think no one will challenge them on (then are unable to hide the panic when there is someone present who actually does know something about the subject).

Sad thing is, they usually don’t realize that the things they’re projecting are attempts to show learning/education, not intelligence, because they don’t understand the difference.

  3. He has a lot of opinions and brokers no disagreement, he interrupts on purpose and doesn’t apologize.

  4. They try to make people feel stupid.

Especially when people ask deeper questions about topics that the fraud presents. God forbid they don’t know an answer, they’ll try to make you feel like your brain is hardly functioning.

Truly smart people learn from everything and everyone.

  5. Using big words for no fucking reason. Like I’m glad you read a thesaurus, but cut the bs you look like a poser
