What is meetup used for?

I don’t want to go rock climbing, hiking, running, or biking. What else can I find on there. People keep mentioning how good meetup is they have to have a lot more then these! I mean we’re redditors how often do we get out side? If we’re suggesting this to people there has to be something else. I don’t live in a small town. There’s tons of neighborhoods there’s a lot of fast food places and big grocery stores. There’s no way it can be classified as a small town.
