Greetings,

I’d consider myself quite social. I work in UX research, which is a type of social research I suppose. I do a lot of interviewing, so I’m quite good at getting people to talk, steer conversations, dig in deep. Also presentating in front of groups of people. Thus I’m definitely not socialle awkward, I think.

However, after work I find it difficult to have meaningfull conversations outside of work. A lot of times interests just don’t really allign and I don’t seem to have much in common with anyone. Thus the conversations often are very shallow and don’t last long.

I try all the techniques in the book. Try to talk about someones elses interest as much as possible. But it just doesn’t work well.

I’m curious if anyone got any tips of having more meaningful communications?
