My best friend betrayed me
I was born with an appearance that sets me off from everyone, and a lot were either afraid or disgusted about by it. A girl entered into our household one day for some reason, she looked really shy when I first saw her. I approached her and talked about her visit, and soon enough we started going to each other’s houses and just hanging out. She was one of my friends that decided to friend me, outside from my appearance or boring character (since I was socially inept during that time). We were really close, and our friendship lasted for about 6 years.
I truly admired and cherished that dear friend of mine. We had even planned our future to be together as friends. I had accepted her fully, from the flaws and imperfections she had. I had always stayed by her side. I had always helped her and even took the blame for the stuff she had done. I thought our bond was unbreakable and my friendship with her is perfect.
One day, I decided to tell everyone all the trauma and abuse that I endured and experienced from childhood up until that moment. A few believed in me, but the rest laugh and mocked at me. My best friend who I thought was one of those that believed me became one of the biggest supporters of my abuser, and she even helps him degrade me and she became one of the shields to my abuser’s shittery. I felt a knife stabbed my chest when I saw what she done.
Was I bad friend? What made her do this? What just happened?- these thoughts raced in my mind.
At the end, I realized that she was never after our friendship but the status and money my abuser hold, and I was just the mode. I hope you all may find good friends and not end up like me : )
