It’s clear to me that dating apps don’t have the girls I’m looking for, so how do I find them?

I’m not in college, most of my hobbies/interests don’t involve going out.

I don’t smoke, use drugs or drink. Surprisingly, a person who abstains from all three is rare these days.

This is meaningless. You being sober doesn’t define you or make you special.

So if you don’t go out you’re not going to meet women. Join an outdoor sport group, find bars with non-alcoholic options and go to events there like trivia nights, find singles meet up events in your city, try a new class for cooking or art where you can mingle with others. Talk to people at farmers markets. Get out of your house and your comfort zone.

  2. I’m sober too, but you can still go to bars and socialize at events. This local bar in my town has a ton of music-related events almost every night (karaoke, open mic, featured acts, etc). The cool thing is that they also have a non-alcoholic cocktail menu. Even if they just serve regular drinks, just get a cranberry juice, check out the music, sing some karaoke, and mingle. Hell, maybe it’s time to pick up guitar and learn a few tunes. I’ve seen some real amateurs get up and play songs and it’s fun as hell.

The point is, there are ways to adapt to situations. Telling yourself, “I can’t go out because I’m sober” really is an excuse. Sobriety/abstaining doesnt mean you have to isolate yourself from society.

  3. I’m also straight edge, it is pretty difficult to find people who completely abstain.

  4. I’m in the same boat. Being clean and all. I’ve actually had luck picking up hobbies like leatherwork, sawing, blacksmithing, Pottery, ext. Find something you enjoy and join a community. You’ll find awesome like minded people. And who doesn’t like a woman who works with her hands.
