I have to start/resume using public transport and also walking trough the streets a lot. Due to religious values I must dress in whats termed formal attire; dress pants(not jeans), shirt or polo shirt, belt etc.

I would feel much more comfortable if I knew for certain that: “no one will care how I dress”. I dont remember who it was,but someone told I should try to pass un-noticed in the crowded train,or when walking certain districts.

I dont use expensive clothing because it merely doesnt suit my fancy,or well, I use locally expensive clothes, but theyre shopping mall brands not “real” Branded items.

  1. I doubt anyone will pay any attention if you are dressed like that. Where I live it’s known as “business casual”

  2. They would probably all assume you were going to work and probably wouldn’t give you a second thought

  3. That sounds like business casual and depending on where you are would not cause a remark. I’m in Australia and it passes fine, just a slightly better dressed person.

If you’re doing formal – tuxedo, really nice suit, cocktail or evening gown type stuff – you’ll be noticed. Most people still won’t comment though
