Way more relaxed. I don’t own any suits anymore. Business casual clothing and alot of joggers.
In my 20s and 30s I worked on Wall St. and management consulting. So lots of suits, ties, cuff links etc.
At 40 I switched to Tech. I’m in t-shirts and sweats most days.
That said, I miss wearing suits. I have amazingly well made comfortable suits and bespoke shirts and they feel great.
Much better than any t-shirt. Unfortunately the Silicon Valley “uniform” is t-shirts and sweatshirts with joggers.
It’s changed along with the times. In my early 20’s I had popped collars. Late 20’s I had skinny jeans. But since I go out less now I’m late 30’s, my dress code is more comfortable, but I always make sure I look presentable when leaving the house.
I care more now about how I look, and I can afford to buy high quality, reasonably stylish clothes. I also learned some rules to dress to look better.
So, much better fashion sense, and the ability to execute on it.
