I was passing behind a coworker(X) while she was talking to one of the department managers saying,” that girl(B) took 6 hours to finish 1 task.”

I told our manager for our teams department that, “X was telling A that B did 1 row, B actually did 3 to 4 rows, in this certain area.”

I believe X was trying to get B somehow in trouble. For some odd reason just targeted her because she was the slowest today?
I had enough.
X does snarky things but I’ve never seen her just outright snitch/lie on someone. So I told our manager how she misspoke about her.
Was I wrong to involve myself?
I regret I got involved and its bothering me. I hope my manager doesn’t think I’m drama
