i turned 42 today 🙂

my wife is making us smoked brisket, grilled corn with homemade garlic butter, and taking us out for Andy’s custard lately. she bought me a brand new Martin guitar for a gift + a card reminding me of how much she adores me :)))

how do you like celebrating your birthday, guys?

    I’m at work today, we’ll have dinner and cake and presents tonight. then probably go out to dinner on the weekend.

  2. I want to ignore the fact that it’s my birthday as much as possible. So I prefer to sleep late, keep my phone on silent, and do absolutely nothing.

  5. I’m just hoping for a normal birthday that the pandemic doesn’t play into for the first time in three years.

  6. I’ve been doing solo birthdays for the past couple years.

    Last year I was in Vegas. Spent the day laying by the pool reading, and then at night I put on a suit and went out by myself to a Michelin star restaurant. After dinner, I went back to my hotel room for a bubble bath followed by a massage that was so relaxing it put me to sleep.

    I prefer keeping my birthdays pretty low key. I don’t hate birthdays or anything, I just don’t really care about them

  9. I’m not married and don’t have a gf. For me, it’s just another day and I’m usually at work.

    Just kidding. That sounds pretty awesome, and is almost exactly how we celebrated my last birthday (minus the guitar).

One thing that I do on the eve of each birthday is open an empty note on my phone and list off all of the accomplishments, favorite memories, obstacles met and overcome, relationships had, and anything else noteworthy. It really helps me stay positive about the coming year while encapsulating the past year and a montage of memory.

    Then I get drunk and fuck.

    Personally I don’t care about my birthday too much so I like to keep it low key. Just having some food and drink with family and friends

    My sisters have to be nice to me for a whole day.

    Just knowing how much they hate it makes it all worthwhile.
