Anyone here been to both an Australian and American Sizzler restaurant? How similar/different were they?

1. For most of my life I thought Sizzler was a made up restaurant referenced only on TV. I have never been to one to my knowledge.

   Is it particularly popular in Aus?

2. I have never heard of either.

3. Man I miss all you can eat shrimp and garlic bread at Sizzler when I was a kid (80s/early90s)

4. I remember seeing them, seeing commercials for them in the 1980’s and ‘90’s. Never actually ate at one. They don’t exists anymore, at least around here in the Midwest.

   EDIT: apparently now they are just a West Coast chain?

5. TIL Sizzler wasn’t just invented for the Jersey Shore episode on South Park.

6. Most Americans have never heard of Sizzler. It was a regional restaurant chain mostly found in NY. It’s now mainly only in California but only the Northern and Southern part of the state.

   Iirc, all the Australian locations are closed.
