I (23m) just graduated college and got a job in a different state. I love my job and I’m pretty happy where I live, but the only problem is I have no friends. I used to have a pretty close knit friend group that followed me from high school to college but since I made the friends in hs I have no idea how to make friends as an adult.

  1. [This might help.](https://anadvi.com/?p=65) You make friends in adulthood the same way you did in highschool. By being around the same people often enough to build connections with them. Friendships take proximity and frequency. In hishschool this happens in class, sports, after school activities, and neighborhoods. You need to find situations as an adult that mimic those situations in highschol.

  2. If you’re at work. Start small conversations with the coworkers you want to hang out with. Stop by their cubicle/office and spend 5-10 minutes daily. Eventually move to having lunch together often. Then dinner/drinks/happy hour after work.
