Dear men of Reddit who have never been in a relationship: How do you cope with it when it gets really tough and mentally hitting the rock bottom

  1. I think about how those before us struggled for life much harder than most of us have to now. I also pray to give me comfort.

  2. It definitely gets tough sometimes, especially when you see all your friends in happy relationships. I just try to remember that it’s not the end of the world and that there are plenty of other things to focus on in my life. Sometimes I’ll treat myself to something nice or go out with friends to take my mind off things. It definitely helps to talk to someone about it too, whether it’s a friend or a professional.

  3. I dont cope. I loathe being single rn. I used to enjoy being single but i fucking hate it. Its depressing af and theres no cure.

  4. Personally I haven’t been coping with it, but then again I can’t imagine I would be coping well if I was in a relationship either, and then I would be dragging someone else down with me.

As advice, I would echo the person who mentioned the importance of a support network. A sense of community and belonging through friends and colleagues can help ground you.

  5. First of all, get out of negative echo chambers like some subreddits. Get involved with some clubs or groups in your area. Meet new people without the pretense of trying to find a partner. Before you know it, you’ll have a girlfriend.

  6. I only go out when its necessary & when I do I keep my mind on the task at hand. Instead of looking at other apparently “happy” couples.
