Hi, I wasn’t too sure where to ask about this so apologies if this isn’t the right place.

I already have a desiccant dehumidifier that runs at 300w. I was wondering if it was worth getting a compressor dehumidifier that runs at a lower wattage to save on electricity. My (small) house is usually around 16 degrees but I’m aware that a compressor dehumidifier will work better when it’s warmer.

I’m wondering whether a compressor will run well enough at that temperature to make it worth it in the long run?

Thanks a lot!

  1. Mine says it’s ok to 5deg (but house is usually 20deg ish)

One of my kids runs one (a compressor) in his always freezing flat and it seems effective still (cured his mould issue)

Not sure the savings will be worth it unless the desiccant one is actually needing replacement .. most compressor ones pull about 250w max so will average say half of that maybe when running all the time
