What movie has a great opening scene but is a terrible film?

1. I think this might be an unpopular opinion but Midsommar. The opening is one of the most disturbing I’ve seen so I really amped up my expectations but in the end it felt so anticlimactic. Maybe it’s the constant daylight that detracts from the horror, I don’t know.

2. When a Stranger Calls (1979)

   I won’t say that it’s a terrible film by any means, but the first 20 minutes or so of the film are just on a completely different level than the rest. When A Stranger Calls Back (1993) also has an incredible opening, but is also just a much better film from start to finish.

3. I’m obsessed with the opening song “pop goes my heart” from the movie Music and lyrics, but the movie didn’t really interest me..

4. I don’t think the movie is super terrible, but that opening of 28 Weeks Later, when the family is attacked by the infected and the guy has to abandon his family.

   The rest of the movie is comparatively weak.
