  1. I can’t say that I’d name many. The easy ones would be (EDIT — Jose Feliciano’s )Feliz Navidad and (NENA’s) 99 LuftBallons

(EDIT) I’m sure other people are thinking about Macarena and La Bamba, as well as Gangnam Style. But, I’ll stick with my original answer on favorites

  2. Ta Douleur by Camille is probably my favorite, but I doubt you’d find a significant universal agreement on favorite American song in any language

  3. You can tell my approximate generation when I answer “Bei Mir Bistu Shein” (also spelled Bei Mir Bist du Schön, though why the Andrews Sisters would choose German over a Yiddish transliteration in the late 1930s is beyond me). And, of course, the lyrics of the popular American version are almost entirely English, though the original lyrics are Yiddish.

  4. I was forced to listen to [Sofia by Alvaro Soler](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaZ0oAh4evU) so many times that it actually found its way into my driving playlist.

I have 100% gotten double takes at red lights. Especially because it always has a way of coming up immediately before or immediately after something like Trace Adkins.

  5. Non, je ne regrette rien by Edith Piaf

I actually bought her record overseas and really loved it.

  6. Faliz navidad, it’s at least partly in Spanish. Americans don’t listen to much foreign music

    Despacito was pretty popular

  7. Personally? *La Mer* by Charles Trenet. The English-language version doesn’t quite have the same vibe.

  8. Oooh this ones for me. but idk if i can pick a singular fav.

Rammstein has a number of good songs but my consistant favs are Rosenrot and Liebe ist fur alle da.

The a la menthe (the original w/ lyrics) is so fun but TTC-Traveiller is very fun.

MengZi’s SaoZheng or 唐伯虎 are great

The 3rd member of dlb left but before that they had a number of good songs like Пати хард and токсик

These are all on my most played playlist on spotify (or would be if they were on spotify)

  9. things you find when you click on an interesting thumbnail on youtube… Lio – Les brunes comptent pas pour des prunes

  11. I’m gonna list bands instead of songs cause picking one is impossible for me.

    Rammstein

    Eisbrecher

    Brujeria

    The HU

A ton of Luca Turrillis songs

Slaughter to Prevail (mix of Russian/English)

    Turmion Kätilöt

  12. No one gonna say Gangnam Style?

    Really?

It’s gotta be either that or the Macarena as most popular foreign language song in the U.S.

Basically if it’s catchy and has its own dance, it’ll catch on here. XD

  13. [Bésame mucho](https://youtu.be/pwRiKDcrjz0), though I don’t think it’s as popular these days as it used to be, I only ever heard it after learning Spanish and then noticed it a lot in either old shows or shows that were supposed to take place further in our past.

  14. 2 from my childhood: Itsy Bitsy Petit Bikini and Dominique. Mom had a lot of foreign language music but those are the ones I would sing along with the stereo.

  15. I like old patriotic music from various countries. le chanson de l’oignon probably takes that cake.
