I’ve been given 4 days off work next week (don’t worry, I’m not complaining), Tuesday-Friday. Any advice for someone planning a cheap, last minute trip away? Abroad or domestic, don’t mind either. Live close to Leeds/Bradford Airport, and potentially am able to drive. I’ve never really done anything like this before, so some help would be much appreciated.

If you are looking for attractions, recommendations, places to live, eat, drink, or do, [take a look at WikiVoyage](https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Leeds) or [search TripAdvisor](https://www.tripadvisor.com/Search?singleSearchBox=true&q=Leeds).

  2. Skyscanner have a “fly anywhere” function where you can put in an airport and a date range and it will show you the cheapest flights to a bunch of destinations. I’m sure there’ll be some dirt cheap flights to Europe that you could take advantage of

  3. This happened to me a few years ago and at the same time there was a deal on flights with Icelandair so I was able to get a return flight for £120 and spent 5 days exploring a few hours each side of Reykjavik staying in hostels along the way. It’s only a 3 hour flight so not too bad.

I’d never considered going before and it was one of the only times I’ve just said ye fuck it and decided to do something like that. Probably one of my favourite trips ever.

Not necessarily suggesting Iceland but if you see a cheap flight to a random arse place I’d say go for it.

Alternatively if you want to stay UK then Glencoe is pretty incredible.

  4. With only four days to play with, you don’t want to be spending too long travelling because it’ll cut into the first and last day and you may feel you’re only getting the benefit of the two middle days.

You’re only about 50 miles from the east coast and you’ve got Hornsea, Filey, Whitby, Scarborough, and Bridlington, Robin Hood’s Bay, and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. You could do a coastal tour and stay in a different place each night.
