My wife & I both work remotely and have lived in our hometown our entire lives. We have the potential to live anywhere we want & feel very blessed to have that luxury. We have no children, but our families and friends are all within an hour drive of us. We’ve been considering the idea of moving to a new part of the country, but have some hesitation. The only thing keeping us here are our friends and family.

  1. I lived away from home for 7 years. No regrets. I got to build up a new career, a new group of friends, a new life, and a new wife on the other side of the country.

Family and friends were always just a flight away, and when I did make those trips I found the time with them was of a higher quality.

The only thing I wish was different is that I wasn’t around for my niece and nephews to turn from little kids into young adults. I think my relationship with them could be a lot closer if I had stayed.
