What may be the consequences when a mom compliment one of her son but call the second one unattractive?

   Or the brothers grow up and fight to the death, with the winner establishing an empire.

2. The “unattractive” child would grow to resent the mother and lean to the father for support. If denied of both they will seek validation from the second family aka friends. If denied again, a world of depression awaits. They will seek to act out for attention or resort to violence just to be noticed.
