I’ve never actually been to a train station
Grand Central?
Grand Central and DC Union Station are the two obvious ones.
They both are amazing buildings and are still vitally important transportation hubs.
There’s one I live across from that actually has an absolutely gorgeous view of fields, hills, and a creek that transitions to a river.
Rather not name it just because of proximity
Union Station in LA is really neat and a very different style from most US train stations.
The current Atlanta Amtrak station is probably the saddest excuse for a major city’s intercity rail station.
Union station in DC and Denver are both nice.
Indianapolis ‘ Union Station was the first Union Station in the country. The main lobby area is really nice. When I was a kid it had restaurants and shops, but now it is used as event space for a hotel.

Chicago’s Union Station is really iconic. LAs is a bit more modern.
South Station in Boston is pretty good after the recent remodel
The Durham Museum, which is a former Union Station, dwarfs the actual Omaha Amtrak station in every way.
Addison Red Line stop in Chicago. I’m not claiming it’s the best, just my favorite.
Grand Central in NYC is stunning.
But 30th Street Station in Philly (where Amtrak goes) is also stunning. I think that’s a close second.
Denali Park Station in Alaska
Grand central is just so nice. The new penn station will be something else as well.
Definitely NYC grand central
The Depot in Durango, Colorado
The New Orleans train station is simple but has amazing depression-era murals. There’s nuns and waltzing skeletons and scenes of plague and starvation and the horrors of colonization, all in between the bathrooms and vending machine.
New Haven used to be my favorite small station, though, purely for the sound of the departure board as the numbers clicked over. They replaced it with screens a few years ago in a very sad downgrade.
As someone who grew up in a state where rail travel is inefficient and therefore uncommon, the only station I can think the name of, let alone think of how it looks, is Grand Central. Rail travel is really only for places with multiple cities in a smaller region, or for tourists.
I like the new Penn station
Grand Central in NYC for its ornate architecture and historical significance.
I recently visited Denver for the first time, and Union Station there is really lovely.
Union Station in Chicago is pretty neat.
Cincinnati’s train station is inside our natural history and children’s museum. Pretty cool
Is Penn Station a station or just a sandwich shop? Seriously I dunno, I’m 38 and I’ve never once been to a train station in the USA. I’ve used them overseas but not in the US.
grand central, obviously.
Chicago’s union station is nice.
I’m a little biased, but Raleigh Union Station just got re-built and [I like it a lot](https://old.reddit.com/r/Amtrak/comments/vj5lbn/the_beautiful_raleigh_union_station/)
The one in downtown Burque looks cool, never been in it
[LA Union Station](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ae/Los_Angeles_Union_Station_22.jpg) or [Denver Union Station.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denver_Union_Station#/media/File:Denver_union_station.jpg)
Grand Central and DC Union Station are the best ones I’ve been to, but I’m familiar with what LA Union Station looks like and it’s beautiful.
For smaller stations, Richmond Main Street is really cool. Beautiful 120-year-old station, renovated and reopened 20 years ago, with great views of the city.
I like the two in Winchester MA that are like 15 feet apart from each other.
The great hall in union station in Chicago is beautiful. The stairs to canal street until recently were original and you could see the wear 80 years of train goers had put on them. If you’ve seen the baby carriage scene in the untouchables they were slimed on those steps
To add to the comments so far, I’ll add Union Station in Kansas City for a lesser known, but worthwhile addition
