I (M21 in the USA) will be frequenting coffee houses this week due incoming midterms homework.
Since I will be there anyways, I thought I’d get numbers/instas for potential future dates.
I was considering just writing down my phone number on a napkin and just putting it on the girl’s table to avoid interrupting her, or alternatively laying down my business card with a smile.
What is the best way to go about meeting girls at coffee shops? Thank you

Do not do the business card, it’ll seem more work related. Napkins cool. Or just be a man, grow a pair and say hey. If she seems pissed, say sorry nevermind and move on. Do whatever you can to look like you have the balls to actually say hi
If u happen to both use macbooks in the coffee shop, u can airdrop her a message saying shes cute or offer to buy her a coffee/lunch. Its a thing in my country and ppl find it cute. Going straight up to someone to leave a ur number could be a bit nerve-breaking and awkward.
Is this after you’ve made prolonged eye contact or are you just going to randomly drop numbers? Honestly if a girl is actually studying she would have barely looked at your face so I don’t think this will go as well as you think.
I’de actually be annoyed if I was focusing on studying and someone interrupted me.
This sounds very cute, though, in reality, this kinda thing is a hit or miss. This can happen in 2 ways. On one side (Cons) people will either feel creep out, or annoyed/pissed that you have bothered them. On the other side (Pros?) others might be enlightened and/or are pretty laid back to have a conversation. I say just wing it! wish you the best of luck.
