i’ve no problem maintaining eye contact in one-on-one conversations, and i’m also fine when presenting to a group, but whenever there are two or more people i’m holding a conversation with, i become super awkward and default to looking at the floor or table. help ;-;

  1. Whoever is talking and occasionally break eye contact or you look like you’re learing.

  2. Round robin eye contact is the right answer otherwise you can unintentionally exclude people from the conversation

  3. Look at the middle of the audience. After a few minutes, quarter turn to your left and look to someone in the middle of the one-third of audience, return to center, repeat, then quarter turn to your right and look at someone in the center of the right side one-third of the audience. Check out some TEDx speeches, too, as they are well coached by those producers.
