How did your life change after being raped?

1. I put on 100 lbs hoping to never be considered attractive enough for another rapist.

2. I don’t really know if my experience was considered raped but it was a rude awakening knowing that asking for help means you want attention and not asking for help makes you crazy.

3. I became hyper scared of men and spent the rest of my childhood being terrified of being anywhere in their proximity. I clutched my bags, wore baggier clothes and overall just tried to appear invisible anywhere I went since I had to take public transit and walk a lot to get too and from school. Only worked 50% of the time. Things are a lot better now that I have a genuine, loving man whose very patient and gentle with me but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to turn off the fear completely.
