1. Take a deep breath or two and consciously relax

2. If you’ve ever done anything musically, visualize your speech as a series of notes appearing on, say, the bass clef. Minimize your sixteenth and thirty-second notes, watch your phrasing, keep it lyrical, and try to end up in the same register you started.
