So I met this guy on hinge and after talking for a bit we made plans to meet this Monday. In the meantime we’ve been texting pretty much every day.
I’m not gonna post his pics out of privacy incase this is a real person, but if u saw the pictures on his profile you’d see he looks 100% real. Like the photos aren’t sus at all, so for a long time I didn’t even consider him being fake. At least, until a few things started happening.
The first red flag was that he wanted to send me the link to something, and I offered both my Instagram and phone number, but he ultimately decided to do my email??? That was weird but I didn’t think anything of it- maybe he didn’t want to swap social media till after we met to see if we had a real bond or not. Totally fine!
Then later on I realized he seems to somehow have the same interests as me. Like I’ll like something and then he’s like ‘omg me too!’. Very few times has he brought up his own interests besides like superhero content and lord of the rings.
Now I’m most sussed out because he sent a voice memo to show his voice. And he sounded like… really fake? Like, not fake, just like he was forcing an ‘attractive’ gravelly voice. And he said something generic too like “hey uh.. this is me *forced giggle* this is really weird, but, uh, yeah.”
Like it sounded completely staged 😭😭
And rn he’s being really corny and flirty? Which is weird cuz he had NOT been like that before. But he keeps saying cringe ass shit like- just now I said I like a show and he was like ‘we should have a marathon one day! We could make popcorn and curl up under the covers’
So that’s all I got so far. Also I should probably preface that I’m high as FUCK rn and also I’m an extremely insecure person who has never been liked back before and has never dated, so this may very well be a case of me being stoned and shit. But I’m asking rn cuz I don’t want to ask my friends bc they’ve been rooting for me with this for a while and it would be embarrassing to bring it up 😭😭

Sorry fake, unless he video chats you I think you should ignore him. Voice memos can easily be recorded and sent around.
Perhaps he lives with his parent and doesn’t work and just uses the library or free wifi at a store to just email you. He may just be a jobless bum looking for someone to take care of him. Like a milf or cougar hunter that plays videogames all day at other people’s expense. That’s my guess. Hope that helps somehow.
