I was a bit drunk, high volume music at the bar, a lot of space for people to dance, I was standing at the corner. A very good looking girl came asked me for a cigarette. she stood next to me leaving her friends and at one point she told me: you look like a teacher I have. I immediately got triggered I told her how old are you ? She said 18 and I said back I’m 24 so now thank you for making me feel old, laughing nervously as she got weirded out.
The bar was full of young people wearing cool clothes I was wearing casual with my glasses on. My friend and roommate who was enjoying his time at the bar told me you most of the time wrongly interpret stuff you have an issue in some part of your brain that you should fix.
I think it’s due to my low self esteem I didn’t get that she was complementing me at all, because I couldn’t picture a good looking girl like her ever complementing me.

  1. Next time, say something like ‘why, the teacher must be good looking’ as opposed to ‘thanks for making me feel old.’ The latter is kind of cliche. You’re 24- that’s not old. Can’t start making jokes like that until late 30s

  2. Nahh your good. It sounds like youd just be a replacement for the teacher. Which is very weird
