I have seen and read a lot of material on neurodivergence that I relate to, but as an academically high-achieving female I don’t know that this was ever massively focused on. I am also queer, having been in relationships with women and men and currently unsure as to how I would label myself. I think I’m quite an anxious person and sometimes scratch e.g. my neck when I am stressed to the point where I have scabs, but I don’t know if this has another root.

Basically, I’m 24 and never had an orgasm despite lots of positive sexual experiences with short and long term partners (and myself !!) where I’ve been turned on and mentally and physically stimulated, which were pleasurable but I have never in any situation achieved that “climax”. While I’ve somewhat accepted this, I’m now curious as to why this might be, and it is making me lean more and more into this suspicion. Does anyone have any experience with this ???? I feel so lost and alone, and have no idea where to turn.

edit: am not on any long term medication currently !!

  1. I haven’t seen any studies, but I would safely guess that whether or not you’re neurodivergent is irrelevant to whether or not you can orgasm.

I’m autistic with ADHD and I don’t have this problem, and I’ve never met any other neurodivergent person with that problem either. Are you on antidepressants?

  2. I’ve heard of ADHD causing this but I also know several people with ADHD who have good sex lives. Either way, r/becomingorgasmic is a better sub for this query
