My wife just worked six days in a row, has tomorrow and the day after off, then will have to work eight days in a row because she asked off for three days in a row to go on a trip with a friend of hers to a comedy show in another state. My wife works so hard and we have only recently been able to get much time together, and we won’t get much time together until after she gets back from her trip. We will be able to spend all of both of the days together and I really wanna do something fun and romantic together, something that will make us both smile and feel passionate. I’m wanting to keep it cheap as I’m sure this trip of hers will be expensive and I don’t want her to have to sacrifice anything on a trip she was really looking forward to. For context, we’re both nerds (Magic, Pokemon, video games), love comedy, foodies, and just love to spend time together. So reddit, any ideas?

– Rent or ask a friend to lend you a gaming system you don’t own and discover new games with your wife.
– If you’re still having warm weather, picnic. If it’s deep autumn where you are, go on a walk and see if you can do something silly like you did as kids (collecting pretty leaves, making figures out of chestnuts and toothpicks, whatever).
– Skating rink if you wanna do something more sporty. Holding hands while trying to not fall on your face can be surprisingly fun!
– If you wanna do something at home, cook something new together. If you wanna spoil her instead, a massage and a nice bath are basically free.
– Watch the first movie you watched together as a couple again.
Since it’s October have a pumpkin carving contest that’s a fun idea.
