Just waiting for pizza and heard my husband shout ‘it’s baking!’ Surely no one actually follows the journey of each pizza as it goes through the kitchen, clicking buttons? Is it just an average time display to calm your hangry customers? And quality check (come on) – are you just calling up the driver while my pizza is getting cold?

  1. I’m pretty sure it’s based on average timings for the branch at the time of day, they’re certainly not pressing a button each time they move your pizza to the next station.

  2. I once complained that the app said delivered but it hasn’t arrived. I was told it was a complete and utter fiction based on time. They hadn’t even put mine in the oven yet.

  3. I’ve always pictured the quality check as just a Dominos employee standing looking at it going “Yep, that’s definitely a pizza!”

  4. I know it isn’t true because I’ve had pizzas delivered before it said it was in the oven

  5. They once spent an hour and 30 minutes “quality checking” my pizza, so not that accurate.

  6. It’s based on a timer. I have had Dom tell me my pizza has been delivered and called the store and they told me. I bet they hate Dom.

Quality Check means the pizza is finished cooking but is waiting for a driver to take the order, if its really busy it will stay on ‘quality check’ until a driver becomes available and takes the order.

Many people in this thread have incorrectly assumed everything is on the timer so I’ll clear it up…

When someone places a order it goes to the make line where they make your pizza, once it’s been put into the oven they will click enter on a keyboard to complete it, this will change the status from ‘preparing’ to ‘in the oven’

After 6-7 minutes the pizza will come out of the oven, be cut and put into boxes and placed on a hot rack, this is when you will see ‘quality check’ on the tracker.

Once a driver becomes available, they are signed out on a delivery through a screen called the routing screen, once they have signed out with said delivery it will show ‘out for delivery’ on the app.

Normally it will say ‘out for delivery’ until the driver returns to the store and clocks themselves back in… However many managers will clock them back in before they actually get back to ‘improve’ the stores delivery stats so they don’t get into trouble for taking to long to deliver the pizzas, this is why it will say ‘delivered’ sometimes while it still has not arrived yet.
