1 chap stick
416 grams of Butternut Squash.
Depending on where you are in the U.S.
A can of soda maybe from a derelict soda machine
Maybe one of those shitty “World’s Best Chocolate” candy bars, used for fundraising
Probably a cheap toy, that likely contains lead and other toxins, you can get at a dollar store
Your options are really limited
Bought a $0.99 23 oz Arizona Arnold Palmer today.
Thursday nights at college bar in town has dollar mixed drink mugs (32 oz). Dollar wings on Wednesdays.
At the grocery store yesterday, I bought a $0.89 5 lb bag of potatoes on sale. Cans of veggies usually are under a dollar, can buy a lb of onion under a dollar. Apples, bananas at times.
A really shitty hand job.
Jokes aside not much, here in the Midwest and I’m sure other regions we have this chain store called dollar tree where everything was originally one dollar.
Due to inflation everything is now $1.25 minimal while they still kept the name.
2 bunch of cilantro, parsley, green onions.
Some bananas, onions, potatoes, limes, apples etc.
Some same-day baked bread in walmart (Although it’s priced at $1 so after taxes it’d be $1.08 or so).
soda from vending machines.
Arizona Iced tea.
etc
I remember the days when $1 bought you a 20 oz Coke from the machine. Definitely as recently as 2001 when I was in middle school.
Nowadays, you might be able to buy a small bag of chips or some gum from a vending machine.
[an Arizona iced tea](https://www.cnbc.com/2022/10/13/arizona-iced-tea-ceo-vows-to-keep-99-cent-price-tag.html)
A can of Shasta or an Arizona. That’s about it.
Two bunches of cilantro.
A can of veggies or beans is $0.70
Kool Aid packets which can be found for less than a quarter at most grocery stores.
100 pennies
can of beans or corn or something is about that price
nothing bc now the dollar tree prices went from $1 to $1.25 lol
Not a whole lot because most things marked as $1 are going to be more than $1 due to sales tax being added at checkout with few exceptions. Groceries being the only thing I can think of. Lookin at my weekly grocery ad for $1 I can buy one of the following items.
1lb (454g) of fresh limes ($0.89/lb)
4 cucumbers
1 avocado ($0.69 each)
1 pack of 6 hotdogs
4lbs (1.8kgs) of whole watermelon
2 cans of baked beans
There are of course many other things within this price range but 99% of it will be food. If you don’t include sales tax you get a much wider variety of items available we have several chain stores that are known as “dollar stores” where everything is priced at or close to $1 + tax and the items include office supplies, home goods, cleaning supplies, toiletries, clothes seasonal decorations and many other things. The quality of many of these items is usually rather poor or the amount you get is small.
