What are your tips against smelly feet?

  1. Wash your feet – properly.

Cotton socks, no poly/blends. If you get athletes foot, do something about it.

  2. Wash your feat, desinfect the insides of your shoes (if they smell), use footpowder as bacteria stems from wet spots.

  3. Wash your feet in the shower and make sure they’re dry before putting socks on.

If it smells really bad and could be a fungal issue, try some over the counter creams or go see a dermatologist.

  4. It’s from sweat. Feet actually have more sweat glands than any other part of the human body. The fact that many people keep them covered with socks and shoes means you can’t smell them as much, so foot antiperspirant or foot deodorant is not commonly discussed compared to armpits.

So the solution is to keep your feet dry and clean. There’s numerous methods of doing this, just research a few and see which works depending on your situation.

Edit: for me personally, when barefoot I’ll use a clear spray and wash my feet in the middle of the day. With shoes I’ll use a powder and change socks in the middle of the day if I can’t wash my feet.

  5. Aside from obvious basic hygiene, wash your **shoes**. You wouldn’t wear underwear for 6 months without washing them, and you shouldn’t expect your shoes to tolerate that treatment without problems.

Remove the insoles, give them a pregame scrub with some soap and hot water, and put both shoes and insoles in the washing machine, hot or warm water, detergent, **bleach**. After that, tumble dry or air dry.

If this isn’t possible for your shoes (e.g. leather work boots), do this to the insoles, and Lysol the inside of the shoes and wipe out with a clean washcloth.

Wear socks. Wool and synthetic socks are supposedly better for “moisture wicking,” but I have found this claim to be lacking. In any case, thick socks beat thin where foot odor is concerned. Bring an extra pair or two, and change throughout the day. It’ll make you feel like a new man. Keep a plastic bag to keep the soiled ones in until you get home.

  6. Wash your feet properly, borax is a product thats helped, also foot powder helps. Others say cotton socks, I say nay, cotton is rotten. Get Merino Wool socks. If it persists, go to the Dr and check whether you have a bacterial foot infection.

  7. I discovered inadvertently that the very low carb or keto diet eliminated my foot odour. It also eliminated my acne so it definitely had an effect on skin. I think it took about 3 months but I didn’t really notice it until I bought new shoes. The old ones continued to smell but the new ones stayed Odour free. I can now take my shoes off when I travel on a plane without grossing everyone out. Also the severe athletes foot I’ve had from age 9 has completely disappeared – no sugar to feed the fungus I guess.

  8. Spray-on, or stick deodorant on the feet before you put on your socks.

    This will change your life.

  9. Superdose zinc and also buy a zinc cream (sudocrem).

Zinc smacks the shit out of any fungals. All the other shit is money making. It works, kinda, but zinc obliterates it.

Edit: I assume its fungal as you have apparently done all the usual hygeine stuff.

Seriously, 30-40mg oral zinc a day – check with your doctor. Even 50mg is safe for most but you may have conditions im not aware of.

Find a zinc based cream – preferably that’s 15%+ strength and lather them in it for a few hours every night.

This regimen after a month should work.

  10. * wash your feet every day
    * change your socks every day
    * use leather boots or shoes because the stench doesn’t stay unlike sneakers

  11. Be careful with zinc pills. It makes some people very nauseous like myself unless I take it with a big glass of liquid. If you do get nauseous, immediately drink 8 ounces of water. Taking it with food also helps. Before zinc was discovered to be an essential mineral it was used to induce vomiting in poison cases.
