My husband (28m) and I (25f) have been married for a few months and he yelled at me for the first time a couple days ago. It was about a really stupid situation that I’ve forgiven him for. But even though I forgave him for the situation, I can’t get over how he yelled at me. I’m autistic and I’m incredibly sensitive to loud noises. And I was raised in a house with a dad who yelled at me so I basically have PTSD about men being loud and angry. This was the first time my husband has yelled at me during our entire relationship and I can’t stop replaying it in my head. How can I get over it?

  1. Start with some therapy both personal and marital. This can help give you both the tools to create a better working marriage

  2. Yelling is acceptable in certain situations (emergency, background noise, etc)

Or was it just angry emotional yelling? That’s a no-no.
