I typically listen to classical music when I’m feeling thoughtful.
Something slow, melodic and electronic. With a deep 808 drop. Really anything with no vocals.
When Im deep in thought it depends on the mood as well.
If I’m deep into my feelings Hank Williams Sr.
If I’m angry the most aggressive blasphemous metal I can find deicide, cradle of filth, they infernal God dethroned etc.
If I’m in a relax chill mood social distortion etc
Alan Watts chillstep mixes
post-rock.
Nothing.
Music motivates me hugely, for most activity it helps push me and focus more. But I tried to listen to range of genres, but when it comes to thinking or solving something, and I only recently realised, I need quietness and no interruptions allowing the voices in my head to solve the problem/plan something.
I really enjoy jazz and I have a very long YouTube playlist of jazz greats that are instrumental only. It’s perfect for background music and I’ll often play ambiance over it (rainfall, crackling fire, etc). Makes for a great evening.
Electric guitar blues or classic country.
Classical style music is good for this. I like Elgar’s “dreaming”.
Isaiah rashad – the suns tirade
Kendrick lamar – good kid. Maad city
Vince staples – summertime 06
Pink floyd – atom heart mother
Baby keem – die for my bitch
Yes’s Tales Of Topographic Oceans.
