Questions about the midterms, Nancy and Paul Pelosi, Kanye West/Kyrie Irving and Elon Musk/Twitter/SpaceX/Tesla belong here. As always, some of these are developing situations and information can change quickly.

  1. I’m glad Musk took over twitter. Most people unhappy with it are just unhappy that their opponents might not be censored anymore.

Everyone who closed schools needs to lose their election as a lesson to the rest of them.

  2. Pretty wild to think that Kevin McCarthy, who has yet to condemn the assassination attempt on the Pelosi’s, could be Speaker of the House as a result of next week’s elections. And Ukraine’s funding will be pulled out from underneath them because of it.

  3. Got the local political door knockers today. Nice to talk to friendly old ladies. Probably won’t for their candidate.

  4. Kinda politics adjacent, but what are yalls thoughts on the rise of political betting? Like right now there are websites where you can bet on the outcome of pretty much every election in the us. It’s becoming more and more popular.

Personally I don’t see how it’s legal when other forms of gambling aren’t, but I think its kinda cool.

  5. Went to/volunteered at a forum about the 3 different constitutional amendments up for vote in Michigan

    1. Should have been 2 different votes. Amending term limits and requiring financial discloser of elected officials/high-level bureaucrats are two totally different subjects. Not shocking this one was created behind closed doors by elected officials in Lansing and was not sent to ballot by citizen signatures like prop 2 and prop 3 were. I don’t disagree with what the amendment would do, but I really don’t like how it was created.
    2. Again, don’t disagree with what it would do (I really do like the idea of a free stamp coming with your ballot if you vote by mail). But 1. Not sure how I feel about a signed affidavit in place of voter ID 2. Honestly seems like this would be something that should be created by legislation and not slapped into the constitution.
    3. This one people either are going to think its to extreme or to confusing, or you support it. The person at the debate arguing for the vote no side, kept brining up the fact that the wording of the prop says “individual” and not “adult”. Not something I’m personally the worried about

On a more humorous note, I am once again convinced Lansing has forgotten how to pass legislation and so there just shoving the job off onto the voters

  6. Kentucky’s Rand Paul is up for re-election. I know he has an opponent, but I have zero clue who that is. I’ve not seen any commercials or political ads, from either Rand Paul or his opposition.

2 years ago I was always bombarded with Mitch McConnell and Amy McGrath campaign ads, phone calls, and mail.

Haven’t heard anything about this year.

  7. Voting on Election Day. Not confident in my house candidate. No senators to elect. Looks rough for the democrats honestly. That attack on Paul Pelosi was awful but there’s some stuff that doesn’t add up.

  8. I do not look forward to Harriet hageman replacing Cheney. That is all.

She wears her frontier days get up all year long I swear.
