What’s your alma mater and how did you end up there?

  1. Small research school far away, because I wanted to be far away, and they had very good academics, non-discriminatory admissions, and low burden of “expand your horizons” mandatory classes. I got to take almost every class I wanted, on my own terms, and the university supported me all the way.

  2. A state university one state over from where I grew up. They had a good program for the degree I wanted. They had a high percentage of students in this degree working paid internships, resulting in a very high job placement rate after graduation. They offered me enough scholarships that the remaining amount I had to cover with loans and working while in school seemed doable.
