If you branch of with something flirtatious it’s too forward if shes not into you yet, and if you approach it with something generic it’s boring. Humor works with context and I have no idea how to open the window of opportunity for that. I suck at utilizing my wittiness on cue. But its cltcuh when I get the chance to do so….

You could just mention some interesting or seen-as-attractive activity you just did or are about to do.
Like: “I’m fresh out of the shower after a killer workout session” or “Just finished studying for the upcoming XY exam, which I’m totally gonna rock”
Make yourself sound interesting, ambitious, confident and so on.
