So any subreddits I can find seem to be primarily related to promoting or sharing clips.
What I am looking for is a place that offers deeper discussion on the subject. I am immensely interested in pornography and have been for a long time. I always want to know more information ranging from behind the scenes, industry news, history, the politics and philosophy, criticism and theory. The comment section on porn sites, while hilarious, just is not giving me what I am looking for.
I feel like it’s surprisingly under discussed academically despite being one of the biggest and most popular media industries.
Also do any porn nerds have any favorite books, documentaries or podcast on the subject.

I’d suggest the book *Coming Out Like a Porn Star*.
I don’t think there is a sub specifical for discussing thr porn industry on Reddit. I think you’ll find what you’re looking for on the net.
Do an online search of these phrases: How Porn Is Really Made, Behind The Scenes of Porn, Ethical Porn or Why Porn Stars Quit.
If you haven’t already done so take a look at the Adult Video News website as well as the adult DVD talk forum. The forum has technical discussions about how to film etc.
