I (F) have been off an on relationships for years, and only once has a relationship felt remotely right.
And my best friend has been with me throughout every one of these relationships. For as long as I can remember she’s talked about being aromantic and asexual, but recently she’s started to realize that she wouldn’t really know because I’ve been her only friend for years. In the past one of my exes mentioned to me that at the time of us dating that AP(we’ll call my best friend ap) mentioned thinking she had a crush on me. And more recently I’ve been jokingly flirting with her, and at one time this triggered a heart-felt conversation where she admitted she was confused about her own romantic attraction. It seems more and more like one of those rom-coms where the best friends begin to realize they’re in love with eachother, but what if I’m wrong? I don’t think it would ruin the relationship because we’re incredibly comfortable around eachother and she’d easily just brush it off if I asked her to. But the only thing I’ve been able to think about recently is how much I want to be held in her arms.. worst part is right now we are long distance friends. Anyone who has been in this situation or just has advice in general please! What do you say to this?

Talk to her, cuz I don’t see other options. I’ve heard people saying, best friends shouldn’t date or get married, or vice versa, the most happy couples are the ones created by best friends. I agree with the second point because of my experience. Happy marriage is when two best friends fuck. But even though she would reject, and as you said your relationship will be ruined, if you think about it, it already have. But it isn’t that disastrous, maybe you both will forget about it very soon.
There is a problem of long distance. Most likely your relationship won’t last long, if it will ever work. I would talk to her when possible to personally meet her. Bringing this topic online and discussing it with her via messages isn’t a good idea.
