  1. My literal nightmare lol. Asked my ex if she wanted to get back together so that way I can have it in writing she said no and I don’t have to deal with any regret or guilt using hinge again.

    OLD is one of the worst things I’ve experienced

  2. Not exactly living the dream there (jokes) But I often wonder what OLD has actually done to help dating? Has it helped, as you hear of a few success stories, but mostly the outlook is grim

  3. Dating app devs do not give a shit about all the psychological damage their apps are doing. They’re not in it get people together, find true love etc. They’re in it to sell your data and **make money**. This isn’t a charitable contribution to make ‘the world a better place.’

    All of the ideas everyone has about how to ‘fix’ dating apps. The reality is, you only make money the longer people are on the app. If they meet someone and delete, how are you going to make money off their data? They want you to stay miserable and single and log in and swipe every day – forever.

  4. I saw my abusive ex on a different dating site then where we met. I started balling my eyes out. I regained my composure, went to work. On my drive home our favorite song from a band called chidios came on and I just broke out crying. JT sucks

  5. I found dating sites to be triggering. I got matched with an ex’s backburner and I was like damn I forgot to block everybody I didn’t want to see.

  8. Depending on where you live, the user base of Hinge is very small. It’s a fraction of the size of Tinder and almost everyone is in the US.

    Here in Australia I see the same profiles over and over. I think it’s less a cesspool and more an issue of low user adoption and retention.

  9. As a guy that completely lacks the confidence to hit on girls in everyday life, OLD is what i rely on. If OLD wouldn’t exist, my chances to get a girlfriend would be close to zero.

  10. Haha it was so funny when I saw my ex husband on Tinder and literally every photo he was using had been taken by me 😂 such little effort put into his profile
