  1. It’s not just california, but it is extremely bad (/worse) in California. They had the most expensive gas when it peaked.

  2. Compared to where? California is a bit more expensive than the rest of the US, but if you’re coming from someplace where people can live comfortably off of $5000 a year? The entire US is expensive.

  3. Its not just California. Its the whole world dude. Have you not looked around lately?

  4. Yes and no. Prices in general are just high right now due to inflation, but California has usually been higher than the rest of the country on certain products.

  5. Where in the world do you live where things aren’t more expensive than they were in the Before Times?

I was in LA this summer and honestly outside of accommodations I did not find LA to be a particularly expensive city. There’s lots of free or low cost tourist things/

San Francisco though, ooof, that was an expensive place to visit.

  6. If you came from abroad, the US dollar is particularly strong right now so beyond inflation the currency conversion was probably not in your favor.

  7. As a tourist it really depends when/where you’re going (specific location). Travel (hotel, rental car, airfare, etc) prices fluctuate dramatically based on season/events. Otherwise, most things a tourist would spend on cost pretty much the same as everywhere else, with the exception of maybe gas being slightly higher

  8. Your In the most expensive state with tons of dumb laws so yah it is going to be worse than Cali than in Florida
