Is it weird to knock on someone s door to ask if they wanna hang out?

So me and this girl live in a kind of special home for teens aged 18-20 provided by the social services. You live in your own apartment but can ask people for help with cleaning, cooking food or whatever. Were not retarded, it’s mostly teens who have abusive parents who live there. So anyway, we have been seeing each other about 5-10 times now on activities that the place has been organizing such as BBQs and watching movies. I really like talking to her and would like to hang out with her more but I haven’t asked her for her number and I can’t find her on any social media. I know she lives just besides my apartment because I have seen her go home in there so I’m wondering if it would be awkward/creepy or normal to knock on her door and ask her if she would like to hang out. I don’t really know if it would be weird or not.
