Hey everyone. I’m an oral and maxillofacial surgery phd student. In our profession seniority is very important. I have always respected my seniors. Now finally after 4 years i became a senior assistant and heading to be the chief assistant. Problem is there are some newbies and they don’t respect me. It drives me mad i can’t control it. Because of this, I show passive aggressive behaviors to them and they clearly started to hate me. I don’t really care whether they like me or not but i want them to respect me.

Do you think I am justified in my actions or should i stop seeking respect?

  1. I dunno about justified or not but this is definitely counterproductive! people who are passive aggressive don’t tend to command respect, because it’s clear that they are lashing out from a place of hurt and weakness.
