I’m kind of all over the map and whether it’s OCD or something, I really believe in picking one and sticking to it. The hell am I gonna do with multiple consoles from the same gen all hooked up to my TV at once? Switching from Xbox to PS may not have been the best plan considering the games I enjoy and how much I hate anime rpgs but here we are. I missed out on all the Gears and Halos in favour of God of War which, in fairness, I love. Think I made the wrong decision all those years ago. This is definitely OCD.

  23. My Parents had a SNES from before I was born that I played as my first console, a lot of my early gaming memories were of Super Mario World, Super Mario All Stars, and Donkey Kong Country 2

Being a kid growing up in the late 90s, I wanted a Nintendo 64, the console that I played a lot of at friend’s houses, but my parents decided to get the family a Playstation 1 for Christmas, which I was a little disappointed by at first, but I eventually grew to love the console. We got it a little too late in its run to get the real classics that everyone remembers from the PS1, but I really enjoyed the PAC-Man World, Need For Speed High Stakes, Namco Museum, and [Triple Play Baseball 2001](https://youtu.be/nSUiJWA6soQ?t=107) games

I also got a Gameboy Advance for my birthday at one point, where I played a lot of the Super Mario Advanced games for Super Mario World, Yoshi’s Island, and Super Mario Bros 3 as well as the Donkey Kong Country release for that system and Pokemon Pinball

Then I got a PS2 for my 10th birthday and I played the shit out of that, played a lot of Sly Cooper, Crazy Taxi, Hot Shots Golf Fore!, and NCAA Football 06

When the Wii hit and became a phenomenon, my family got one and I did my fair share of gaming on it, mostly the Wii Sports that came with it and Super Smash Bros Brawl, but it was my younger sisters that really played the Wii, and they played a lot of MySims

After that I was getting to the point where it was no longer acceptable to ask for video game consoles for Christmas or Birthdays, and I got into PC gaming with my friends, and the PC is where I do most of my gaming these days. I didn’t have much money at that time, so getting a brand new PS3 was out of the question at that time. But I played a lot of Starcraft, Halo, Battlefield 1942, and Unreal Tournament with my friends at LAN parties

But when I did have disposable income, I could finally get some of the older consoles that I didn’t get to experience as a kid, and I became a retro games collector. Over the years I’ve picked up a Nintendo 64, an OG XBox, a Gamecube, a PSP, and a Nintendo DS, and now that I’m an adult with actual disposable income, I was able to get myself a PS4, a 2DS, and a Switch Brand new, and I’ve also fallen in love with my Steam Deck.

Now if only I had the time to play all these systems that I have.
