How has your partner changed since when you first met?

1. I watched her grow into motherhood and it was such a transformative and tender thing to see. I have a photo of her holding our first. She was rocking and singing to her. It was a candid shot i took from some distance. She was standing by the window. Low angle evening sunlight was setting her and our swaddled infant. Thwy were awash in glowing singlight. I’ve had that photo saved in my phone for 15 years. I just keep transferring it to every new phone.

2. He mostly does his fair share of housework without being reminded.

3. More connected, more loving, more sexually adventurous.

4. She’s become more comfortable showing her sense of humor and interests to me. Also she finds that I’m her safe space so I’m learning more dirty secrets she hasn’t even shared to her besties. It’s honestly flattering.

5. Dead bedroom. And nags a lot more. Also got fatter. So usual.

6. So different, over 14 years she stopped caring about herself, got an alchohol addiction, more obsessive than ever of favebook and adding ppl she don’t know, she’s became abusive, lies alot more, has cheated… I left two days ago

7. She’s matured and seen more success than I ever will. I met her when she was 13, so there’s the obvious adolescence to young adulthood to adulthood transitions to talk about. But she’s never given up on her goals, and I’ve seen her become an incredible woman.

   I will never measure up nor will I consider myself good enough for her, but she has chosen me regardless and I’m going to do all I can to honor that.
